Krzysztof Walas is an Assistant Professor at Poznan University of Technology and was the Robotics Team Leader at IDEAS NCBR. He specializes in robotic perception for interaction tasks. He obtained both his M.Sc. in Automatic Control and Robotics and his Ph.D. in legged robot locomotion from Poznan University of Technology. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Birmingham’s Intelligent Robotics Lab, he led research groups in several high-profile projects, including Horizon 2020’s THING (focusing on legged robot locomotion) and REMODEL (advancing deformable object manipulation). In February 2024, he joined the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS), and in June 2024 was elected to the board of directors of the AI, Data and Robotics Association (ADRA).
